I never felt any excessive engine heat, even riding in 90-plus degree temperatures. Hydraulic lifters mean no valve adjustments required, and the belt final drive is clean, quiet and almost maintenance-free as well.

Since top gear in the slick-shifting Cruise Drive 6-speed transmission is so tall it’s like an overdrive, riding any slower I found that a downshift to fifth kept the grips and mirrors steady.

Then there’s the powertrain, the motorcycle comes with a muscular and powerful Twin Cam 1,690cc V-Twin engine that delivers strong performance on the boulevard and on the highway. A 2-into-1 chrome exhaust with straight-cut muffler has been tuned to provide a deep exhaust tone while an advanced suspension has been tuned for comfort and precise handling. Nitrogen-charged, monotube rear shocks have preload-adjustable, dual rate springs. A 41.3mm front fork with a 20mm cartridge delivers enhanced damping performance, handling, and ride comfort.
