These high quality molds are for a popular US designed Maine style 26' Lobster Boat now up for sale by the original boat builder and still current owner.
Six boats were built, some exported which is a resounding endorsement by the export market of the quality of the molds that produced them. The molds were built under qualified New Zealand boat builder supervision.
This is a dependable shaft driven, single screw, diesel engine, hard chine semi-displacement design. Capable of moderate speeds up to 15 knots with 180 hp diesel motor. This boat has often been referred to as a go far boat with uncomplicated pre-commonrail era systems that can be repaired using simple tools and a grasp of basic mechanical knowledge. A real KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) concept!
Offered at just a fraction of the cost it would take to reproduce molds of this quality in today's money.
The full set of tooling / molds includes as follows;
• Hull Mold (split type)
• Main Deck Mold (with molded-in non-skid pattern throughout)
• Cockpit Hatch Cover Molds (1 set)
• Cabin Top / Coach house Sub-mold set
• Aft Swim Platform Mold (also with molded-in non-skid pattern)
• Engine Cover Mold
• Fuel tank molds (port and starboard pair)

Another very low risk business opportunity possibility:- the manufacture of hull, deck and components as kits for resale also a possibility. This type of design would be perfect for many people wanting to build a boat in this size range but are also on a budget. A great low cost entry level proven design for many aspiring boat owners with dozens of plywood versions built in the US alone through the years by both amateur and professional boat builders alike and a testament to their market value.
The molds have been stored under a boat yard roof their entire life and therefore all still in very good condition ready for cut and polish to begin laying up boats again.
Reason for selling: This company has now moved on to more modern production and techniques for export only and now both the boat yard and site needs to be cleared for new business ventures.
