40ft Herreshoff designed, Wooden Ketch.
Built in Martha's Vineyard USA and launched in 1992. Only 2 boat of this design were built so a chance to pick up quite a rare boat.
The hull is 3 layers of Cold Moulded Canadian Cedar wood. Each layer is epoxyed together with off set grain. Incredibly strong method and lots of hard woods internal. All stuff that termites do not like.
Boat needs.
1. New Vacuum toilet,
2. 3 ring Gas cooker with Oven needs service,
3. Front deck hatch with Tinted window needs new hinges. (Not a big job)
3A, Aft Deck and Transom need the most work doing and I will send you separate pics in an hour.
4. Boat is equipped with a spare Mizzen sail and a Spare Fore sail. Foresail is on a Roller Furler Only one main sail.
5 . I recently installed 6 new Sealed Lead acid Batteries giving total about 800amps.
6, also 3 x new solar panels. Working well and batteries have never been below 12.5v even in cloudy weather and / or monsoon season.
7. 100m of chain and Anchor on a Maxwell horizontal winch.
8. Also 100m of 1 1/8' rope rode + 10m of chain to a 2nd anchor.
9 AIS fitted
10. VHF radio and ICOM SSB radio.
11, 220v power tools and a big selection of hand tools, socket sets,
12, Lowrance Plotter with fish finder and depth sounder.
The Boat does not have an inboard engine but uses a Yamaha, 9.9hp 4stk petrol engine.
So no petrol or diesel smells below deck and any problems with the outboard can be dealt with quickly and no problem with leaking shaft sealing on thru hulls and no problems with shaft alignment.
