Details AMG E55 - An Iconic Sleeper - COLLECTORS CAR
The car started off as an E200K Sedan 2003 Kompressor in Thailand as a base vehicle, with VIN WDB2110422A174198
The E55 AMG W211076 with the engine M113 K was sourced in Japan and legally imported into Thailand. The whole AMG was then incorporated into the Base vehicle.
Once we got the car in 2021 we started the project to repair the car to perfect OEM condition, which included the following:
- New Driveshaft Center support bearings, with Febi-Bilstein Drive shaft Flex Disc/Joint
- Control Arm Bushings, Front thrust arms, main control arm to frame
- Delphi Stabiliser/Sway Bar front right and left
- New Tires HANKOOK 245/35-19 ; 275/30-19 with AMG Black Series wheels
- New OEM engine mounts
- New SAM system (SAM stands for Signal Acquisition Module) in trunk
- New AMG fuel pumps, relays and wiring
- New shocks front & rear AIRRIDE system, new Airpump for AIRRIDE, valves, distribution lines.
- New Trottle control
- Complete new cooling system with Radiator, Water Pump, Thermostat, Ventilator fan
- New Alternator AMG 180 AMPH
-New Ignition key with new master data control
All technical works were executed by East Coast Choppers AMG technician , together with the authorised MB repair shop AO Pattaya Benz Service.

The second generation E 55 AMG debuted in September 2002 at the Paris Motor Show. It debuted as the fastest production sedan in the world.
E 55 Powertrain
The E 55 AMG is powered by the M113K engine, a 5.4 L V8 with a Lysholm type supercharger manufactured by IHI. The E 55's engine won International Performance Engine of the Year for 2003. The E 55's engine, at 476 PS (350 kW; 469 hp) and 516 lb⋅ft (700 N⋅m) of torque.
The supercharged 5.4 L V8 engine was mated to the Speedshift 5-speed automatic transmission, which has a torque capacity of 796 lb⋅ft (1,079 N⋅m),
E 55 suspension, brakes, wheels & tires
E 55 came with an AMG tuned Airmatic suspension with 3 different driving modes as well as the ability to significantly raise the car. The E 55 features 14.2 in (360 mm) cross drilled disc brakes at the front with 8 piston calipers. The rear brakes consist of 13-inch (330 mm) discs and 4 piston calipers.

Car and Driver reported in their testing that the E 55 AMG was faster than the SL55 AMG. The E 55 AMG was the fastest four door car in Mercedes-Benz's lineup at the time, and easily outperformed its rivals. While the E 55 could accelerate from 0-100 mph (161 km/h) in 9.8 seconds, it took the Audi RS6 11 seconds. Top speed is around 310 km/h.

At present in the OEM configuration the car is very economical, since at low RPM cruising the Supercharger is not activated. Once revving up the supercharger clutch engages and forces the fuel air mixture into the charger.
