Ad Description

Sturdy big boat, made in fiberglass, by Fortuna boats in Cape town, S.A.
The boat has 2 heads, one aside the master after cabin, and one more to the
front of the boat, this is the main head, the heads you can also use to shower.
Three cabins, and two are converted to storage room, but easily back restored to
sleeping bunks, Very big saloon, were you can dance or have a party, with a fixed
table, strong to hold on in wild seas, a 22 inch flat screen TV, connected with
a multimedia box and portable hard drive to watch your favorite movies, or you
can listen music on the radio with usb port and 2 speakers.
The kitchen has a fridge with a freeze compartment inside, we keep food frozen there for weeks/months, there is also a big
freezer but not in use, we use it to store food and drinks, two big sinks for
washing, and a carbon filter for drinking water straight out of the main water
tanks, A 2 pits stove stove with oven, two 20 pound fiberglass cooking gas tanks
mounted in a locker on the back of the boat, with safety solenoid, give you 5 to 6 months cooking.
On deck is now a window model air conditioner, that keeps the boat nice cool
inside in the tropics.

There are the normal accessories that every boat has, wind meter, direction, and
speed, compass, dept sounder, stowe instruments in cockpit and inside, auto
pilot from simrad/robertson with fixed and remote control (cable), furuno 1623
radar(has gps), standard horizon VHF, with build in AIS receiver (has GPS), Icom
M710 SSB radio with automatic antenna tuner, Pactor 2 modem, upgraded to pactor
3, with this system you can send and receive emails, weather reports, even on
the high seas, works on any place on the world, but you have to learn how to use
it. Matsutec AIS transponder (has own gps and antenna)
For navigation I use a regular laptop with opencpn installed, I made a cable
from the Matsutec to the laptop, and get all date from GPS AIS on the opencpn
navigation program, (can do the same from the VHF radio)
Two inverters of 500watt, 110 and 220 volt, if needed, also separate print for
charging mobile Phones, and a print for 19Volt computers are installed.
All these instruments get powered by, 480 amp battery bank, AGM,
batteries, those batteries are charged by 750 watt solar panels, thru a
Morningstar 60 amp PWM solar controller.
There is also a Airgen wind generator, with an amp meter and a switch to stop the
windgenerator. When the main engine is running the charge can be regulated by a
booster system, 15 amp or 55amp coming from the alternator, if that is not
enough then use the 2KW portable Honda generator, and connect that to the 55 amp
battery charger, but this is almost never necessary.
The engine is a old but reliable BMC (British Motor Company) diesel, starts at
a wimp when the engine batteries are good charged, it uses about 2.8 liter an
hour at low revolutions, 5 knots cruising speed.
There is scuba dive gear on the boat for two persons with some spare parts, also
a Bauer dive compressor with Honda gas engine, lots of snorkel gear too.
Three fishing rods with reels, and plenty lures and spare nylon.
To repair canvas or sails, there is a powerful Sailrite sewing machine, with
books and plenty accessories for repair or hobby, I made my dinghy cover with
that machine, and other covers.very strong machine.
There is a 9 foot Carib dinghy, with 15 HP Yamaha outboard.
The anchor is modified 35 KG Brittany anchor(newly galvanized), with this
anchor I feel save at any place with any wind, tested up to 60 knots in the
south pacific, has 85 meter of 10 mm chain, still very good condition. that all
can be pulled up with a 1000 watt electric winch, with a foot control on deck.
This winch is also used to pull somebody up the mast, a child can pull you up
the mast with this winch.
Boxes full of spare parts and tools, to much to write down.

Bruce Roberts 44, priced for quick sale.
Features : The boat has a cutter rigged sail setup, mainsail (new 2016),

watt on solar panels. on the back there is a frame with another 450 watt solar

S&S Classic Sailing Yacht-share or sale

I have owned "Marigold" for over 12 years and have restored the boat including topsides. She is one of 5 designed by Sparkman & Stephens, New York and is a sister-ship to Morning Cloud, owned by British Prime Minister, Edward Heath. I have a signed copy of The Edward Heath Sailing Book. The boat has a full set of sails and has competed successfully in classic yacht regattas including The Kings Cup. I would like to find a partner who can sail and look after the boat which is at Port Takola. Krabi. I work in Chiang Mai so could only sail on a limited basis. I would also be interested in a part of complete sale. A new Volvo engine was fitted several years ago.
