Fiberglass molds for a 48 foot Paine designed sailboat originally marketed under the Explorer 48 trademark but also known as the Hallmark 48 are for sale by the original builder and owner. The deck was designed to facilitate 2 cabin, 3 cabin or 4 cabin charter version interior lay-outs thereby successfully providing 3 models from the one set of molds.All boats built were exported to USA.
Mold set (fiberglass with orange colored tooling gelcoat finishes) includes;
- Hull (split mold type)
- Deck (single mold)
- Rudder (split mold)
- Fuel Tanks x 2
- Water Tanks x 2
- Waste Tank x 1
- Deck locker lids x 7
- Locker liners for applicable deck lockers (gas bottle locker and handed rope lockers forward)
- Deck companionway sliding hatch x 1
- Cockpit backrest mounted storage recesses x 2
- Cockpit backrest mounted engine control panel recess x 1
Note: Lead Ballast Mold is made of cement - split type mold
At this low price it is possible for someone to build a boat for themselves at much lower cost than if building a one-off from scratch and still have the mold to build more units should there be a requirement or other buyers interested in hull / deck kit set perhaps.
Some pictures attached not only show the fiberglass molds (tooling) but also examples of completed boats to illustrate the design and model concept.
